In this video I examine if there is an external solution (a system) for a specific issue, and taking advantage of a small side system for such specific issues instead of replacing the main system in your organization
What do we mean by an external solution?
A dedicated system, in addition to your organization’s main system that solves a specific issue
For example – assuming that you have a system that manages the organization, but there is a lot of inventory, a large warehouse with many employees, and optimization is required in the allocation process, adding a WBS system and connecting it to your operational system may provide an excellent solution.
When is this an appropriate solution?
When there is an operational system that manages the organization and you are satisfied with it, and the main problem in the organization is one specific issue (as in the example I mentioned – the inventory issue), adding a system that specializes in such issues and connecting it to the operational system will solve the problem.
What needs to be examined?
- Whether a one-step solution really required for a specific issue
- If data transfer between the systems is required, the organization must make sure that the existing system interfaces
If you have decided that this is what is required, then the next step is choosing the appropriate external system
For each of the types of systems I talked about there are several software companies that sell solutions – you must choose the system that best suits you.
