Second Tip for COVID Days – Preparing a List of Defects in Information Systems
In this video I explain how to prepare a list of defects in your information system. The goal is to clearly map what you would like your information system to do
The list of defects will be made up of three topics:
- Issues that are carried out in the information systems, but not in a sufficient way. The process works, but there are faults.
For example, the process of handling a product recall:
The product recall process is opened in the information system, is transferred to the care of the appropriate person, but there is no control over the closure or the prevention of the problem recurring in the future. - Issues that are not carried out in the information system, and remain in folders, binders, Excel sheets, etc.
This happens as a result of a lack of knowledge. sometimes an additional implementation is required, or the system does not allow it.
For example, data management in Excel/emails:
Purchase orders that are placed by email or in an Excel sheet that is not part of the information system, but is located externally. - Issues that you don’t think can be carried out using the information system.
For example, an organization that has 2 different systems that do not know how to interface.
There is a system for managing the production floor and an ERP system – both systems work at the same time, without being able to synchronize.
In conclusion –
What do we do with this list? We implement it. More detail about this in the next tip.
